What Naivasha Offers
Hugged by grassy banks and shingled with cacti and sand olive trees, the Rift Valley’s highest lake extends like a vast, sunlit sea, almost 13 km across. Its waters though are shallow with an average depth of five meters. Favourite among Kenyans especially over the weekend, there is plenty to see and do here for example taking a bike ride to Hell’s Gate National Park, only a few km from Naivasha.
At Hell’s gate park enjoy spectacular scenery which includes the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub-clad volcanoes, and belching plumes of geothermal steam, making it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. Treat your skin in the natural therapeutic geothermal hot spa pool (can get crowded on the weekends) or take a hike up the still-active Mt. Longonot.
